Nelson Andrews, Chairman of the Board of Directors:

As the founder and Chairman of Brookside Properties, Mr. Andrews has guided and molded Brookside into one of the most successful real estate firms in the southeast.  His leadership and investment capital have been instrumental in Brookside’s acquisitions and management of a wide array of multi-family, commercial, and real assets throughout the country. 

Mr. Andrews was founding President of the Nashville Better Business Bureau, Leadership Nashville, The Vanderbilt Children’s Hospital, and the Canby Robinson Society of The Vanderbilt Medical Center.  He has chaired the Tennessee Tax Structure Study Commission, Blue Cross/Blue Shield of Tennessee, and the Tennessee Board of Education.  He is chairman of the Community Foundation of Middle Tennessee and serves on the boards of the middle Tennessee YMCA, The Frist Center for the Visual Arts and many others.  His philanthropic contributions to our community and state are unparalleled. 

Mr. Andrews is recognized throughout the southeast as a creative problem solver and is admired by many for his leadership in real estate, education, and the community. 

He is married and has five children.


William (Bill) Warfield, President:

As President, Mr. Warfield directs all corporate operations within Brookside.  Under his leadership, Brookside has grown into one of the premier real estate firms in the South Eastern United States. 

With more than six hundred employees including eighty property managers, Mr. Warfield oversees more than 140 properties in twelve states valued in excess of 500 million dollars.  He personally directs all multi-family acquisitions and leads our team of professionals in the successful operations of each property.

Mr. Warfield is a graduate of Leadership Nashville and is past president of the Junior Chamber of Commerce.  He is an active supporter of many charities and civic organizations including Edge Hill Center, Inc. and Vanderbilt Rehabilitation Clinic.  He is a graduate of the University of the South in Sewanee, Tennessee and he is married and the father of one beautiful daughter. 


David Crabtree, Executive Vice President:

Mr. Crabtree is responsible for all aspects of Brookside's commercial property portfolio including acquisitions, dispositions, financing, marketing, construction and development.

As Principal Broker, Mr. Crabtree oversees all brokerage activities for the firm including sales, leasing, and property management.  Currently he is a licensed real estate broker in twelve states including Alabama, Arkansas, Georgia, Florida, Kentucky, Louisiana, Mississippi, North Carolina, Oklahoma, South Carolina, Tennessee, and Virginia.

Under Mr. Crabtree's direction, Brookside has developed more than 25 commercial projects valued in excess of 250 million dollars.  Throughout his twenty year career, he has brokered sales in excess of 200 million dollars.

Mr. Crabtree is a three time past State Director of the International Council of Shopping Centers (ICSC) and continues to be an active ICSC member.  He holds the professional designation of Certified Shopping Center Manager (CSM) and currently serves on the Board of Directors for the Cumberland County Playhouse.  An honors graduate of the University of Tennessee, he is married and has three sons.


W. Miles Warfield, Sr., Executive Vice President, Secretary and Treasurer:

Mr. Warfield oversees all commercial property management activities for Brookside. 

Mr. Warfield and his team of professionals manage more than fifty commercial properties in six states comprising in excess of 3 million square feet.

As Secretary and Treasurer, Mr. Warfield supervises a myriad of corporate activities including risk management and oversight of insurance for both properties and personnel.  His broad experience and guidance, Brookside has become one of the mid-south's premier property management firms.

Mr. Warfield is a graduate of Leadership Nashville and the founding President of Nashville Ronald McDonald House.  He has served as past president of the Nashville Apartment Association and Junior Chamber of Commerce.  He holds the professional designation as a CCIM candidate.  

As a graduate of the University of the South in Sewanee, Tennessee, he is married and the proud father of three sons.


H. Rodes Hart, Jr., Executive Vice President:

Mr. Hart is responsible for overseeing the asset management and the operations of Brookside's entire multi-family portfolio.  With his guidance and team of seasoned professionals, Mr. Hart ensures the smooth operations of each property and guides each property towards long term success.

Additionally, Mr. Hart oversees all accounting, informational technology, and human resource matters within the firm. 

Mr. Hart is known to be an astute real estate investor and has been instrumental in acquisition of Brookside's entire portfolio.

He currently serves as President of the Board of Directors for Discovery Place.  He has also served as treasurer of the Alcohol and Drug Council of Middle Tennessee and as a board member for Ensworth School. 

A graduate of Vanderbilt University, he is married and is the proud father of three daughters and one son.


Lisa Francis, Chief Financial Officer: 

Ms. Francis is directly responsible for all accounting, financial reporting and banking operations within Brookside.  She supervises in excess of 40 professionals in the preparation of all daily, monthly, and annual financial reports and cash management and banking activities for the firm. 

Ms. Francis graduated with honors from the University of Arkansas with a Bachelors in Business Administration with a major in Accounting.

She is a licensed real estate broker and is a tireless and brilliant professional in the execution of her duties as Chief Financial Officer.

She is the mother of two beautiful girls.


Kelly Harris, Corporate Comptroller:

Ms. Harris manages the Accounting function in the Commercial Property Management Department and is responsible for all financial institution draws for Shopping Centers that are under development and handles corporate level invoices and payments distributed by Brookside.  

She has 18 years of experience through her work for Shoney’s Inc. in the Captain D’s Accounting Department and holding increased level positions throughout her tenure. 

In addition to working hard, she is a devoted member of the Bionic Ear Association and has traveled to many locations to meet with prospective Cochlear Implant patients to help them gain understanding of what to expect from surgery and speaks to Master’s level Audiology students at Vanderbilt during their training.

She is a native of Lebanon, TN where she graduated from Lebanon High School as Salutatorian, attended Nashville State Technical Institute and Vanderbilt University. 

She is married with one son.


Jim Gortmaker, Senior Vice President of Residential Management:

Mr. Gortmaker oversees all aspects of Brookside’s multi-family operations and supervises group managers of the individual properties.

He holds a Master’s Degree in History from Dallas Theological Seminary and the designation of a Certified Property Manager by the Institute of Real Estate Management.  
 
He  has managed multifamily real estate investments for twenty years in fifteen states.  He worked for major regional and national companies and his portfolio includes A, B, and C class properties with many involving extensive apartment rehabilitation.  

He has served as president of both the Nashville Apartment Association and the Tennessee Apartment Association. He has produced and taught numerous training and marketing programs for residential management, and has been actively involved in industry legislative work at both the state and federal levels with TAA, NAA, and IREM.  He holds a Tennessee Associate Broker’s Real Estate License.

He is married and the proud father of 1 son and 2 daughters.


Jennifer Rucker, Affiliate Broker, ICSC, IREM, Vice President of Commercial Management:

Ms. Rucker has over eighteen years of property management experience and a thirty-year history in the Nashville real estate market.  She joined Brookside in 1998 and today manages over one million square feet of commercial real estate.

The diversity of her management portfolio highlights the multiplicity of her experience.  Her all-encompassing skills of property management include retail shopping centers in Georgia, Louisiana, Tennessee, and Virginia.

She implements lease issues, attends to emergency concerns and oversees owner-approved renovations and upgrades to properties which recently included a completed $1.5 million dollar renovation of a Georgetown, SC property and the beginning of an extensive renovation in Gonzales, LA.  She assiduously oversees warehouse and office buildings in Nashville, TN as well as supports the design and construction of expansion within the Brookside workplace.

She grew up in a family of property managers and understands both the financial and physical needs of a property.  She takes a hands-on approach and the gift of know-how, which promotes leadership and merit.  She is committed to excellence at Brookside and strives for continuous growth on all properties.


Charles Warfield, Jr., Senior Vice President of Leasing and Sales:

Mr. Warfield is oversees the leasing and sales of retail and office space for Brookside in the Southeast region of the United States.  He partners with owners and investors in short and long term decisions to maximize value of each property.

He gained vast experience having worked with public and private companies and established an asset management group responsible for the management of multi-family as well as retail and office properties.

He serves as the state director of ICSC and co-chaired the ICSC program committee.  He has served as past president of the Nashville Area Junior Chamber of Commerce.  He is a Leadership Nashville graduate and in various capacities teamed up the Boy Scouts of America organization, including the Middle Tennessee Counsel, and Troop 444. 

A native Nashville, he graduated The University of the South at Sewanee, Tennessee and is married and a proud father of two children.
